Each drawer is supported by a full solid timber frame with extremely strong mortice and tennon joints into the carcass. Superb craftsmanship ensures that this beautiful piece will last for generations. Drawers and boxes are joined with through dovetail and stopped dovetail joints, very difficult to make but extremely strong. Mortice and tennon joints are very carefully cut to ensure a perfect, snug fit that guarantees the integrity of each joint we make. All parts are made from solid sustainably harvested African hardwood. Other manufacturers use plywood or even hardboard for the backs of chests of drawers or drawer bottoms and sides, but we utilise the same solid lumber right through.
